Our client a major retail and commercial bank is currently looking for an Enterprise Cloud & Data Architect to be responsible for defining and delivering enterprise-wide cloud and data architecture strategies, ensuring alignment with business objectives, regulatory requirements, and technology roadmaps.
The role provides thought leadership in modernising the technology landscape, driving scalable, secure, and resilient cloud and data platforms
Required Skills & Experience:
Core Skills:
- Strong experience in Enterprise Architecture / Cloud Architecture / Data Architecture
- Proven ability to define architecture strategies and roadmaps
- Experience with modern cloud-native and data platforms
Technical Expertise:
- Cloud platforms: Azure / AWS / GCP
- Data technologies:
- Data Lakes, Lakehouse, Data Mesh
- ETL/ELT pipelines, streaming (Kafka, Spark)
- Architecture patterns:
- Microservices, APIs, event-driven design
- Understanding of data governance, security, and compliance
Key Responsibilities:
1. Enterprise Architecture & Strategy
- Define and drive enterprise cloud and data architecture strategy and roadmaps
- Ensure alignment with business strategy, platform objectives, and regulatory requirements
- Provide technical leadership and governance across programmes and platforms
2. Cloud Architecture & Modernisation
- Design and implement cloud-native architectures (Azure / AWS / GCP)
- Define:
- Cloud migration strategies
- Hybrid/multi-cloud patterns
- Scalability, resilience, and security frameworks
- Drive adoption of microservices, APIs, and event-driven architecture
3. Data Architecture & Engineering
- Define enterprise data architecture frameworks (e.g., Data Mesh, Lakehouse, Data Fabric)
4. Governance & Standards
5. Stakeholder Collaboration
6. Innovation & Continuous Improvement
