Excellent opportunity to join an established, global freight and logistics business in a newly created role. Reporting at senior level, this position will be fundamental in supporting the operations team with regards to all aspects of the global freight systems platform in relation to forwarding and contract logistics, customs, E-commerce and supply chain visibility.

The role will encompass training, support, driving business initiatives and acting as a focal point and subject matter expert and liaison between operations and IT.

To apply for this exciting and high-profile role, you should have excellent knowledge of freight forwarding and / or international logistics operations and be familiar with using an online, cloud-based freight management system such as CargoWise or FreightExchange.

You should also have experience at team leader or management level, ideally with knowledge of project management and working with diverse teams in a multi-site hybrid environment. In addition, you should be highly self-motivated, able to drive global initiatives and possess an analytical, methodical approach to providing, reporting and implementing systems solutions. Whilst this is not an IT role but will work closely with IT, it would be highly beneficial if you have an aptitude for or strong understanding of IT and the role that global IT interfaces play in today’s International freight market place for movements by sea, road and air.
