Application Engineer
We are working with a leading International Law firm who are seeking an experienced Application Engineer to support the delivery, maintenance, and optimisation of enterprise technology solutions within a professional services environment. This role will work closely with business and IT teams to improve application reliability, operational efficiency, and user experience across a range of business-critical systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess business workflows to identify opportunities for automation, optimisation, and process improvement.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate operational needs into technical solutions.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives aligned with organisational objectives.
- Participate in full project lifecycles including requirements gathering, solution design, configuration, testing, deployment, and post-implementation support.
- Support system upgrades, migrations, enhancements, and integrations in collaboration with internal teams and third-party vendors.
- Troubleshoot and resolve application issues while coordinating with users, IT teams, and external suppliers.
- Monitor application performance and availability, implementing proactive measures to maintain system reliability.
- Test, deploy, and monitor updates, patches, integrations, and releases in line with change management processes.
- Support security and compliance activities, including vulnerability remediation, patching, audit support, and risk mitigation.
- Maintain dashboards, KPIs, reports, and operational documentation to support business decision-making and knowledge sharing.
- Conduct system and user acceptance testing (UAT), documenting outcomes and tracking issues through to resolution.
- Deliver user training, develop support documentation, and assist with change management communications to encourage successful adoption of new systems.
- Stay informed on emerging technologies, market trends, and vendor roadmaps to support future improvements and innovation.
Skills & Experience
- Degree in Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in application support, implementation, or project delivery within a legal or professional services environment.
- Strong understanding of business services functions including Finance, HR, Marketing, and Operations.
- Experience with enterprise and legal technology platforms such as NetDocuments, iManage Work, Aderant, Intapp, ServiceNow, and SharePoint would be advantageous.
- Solid understanding of IT operations, software development lifecycle (SDLC), testing, quality assurance, and release management.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills with the ability to communicate effectively across technical and non-technical audiences.
- Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills with a collaborative and proactive approach.
