IT Support Assistant

Role Overview

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented IT Support Assistant to join a Leading Insurers London based IT team. This role is responsible for providing first- and second-line technical support, maintaining IT infrastructure, and supporting business-critical systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical foundation, excellent communication skills, and a willingness to learn and grow within a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities

Network Administration

  • Configure, install, and maintain network hardware, including laptops, printers, and related equipment
  • Support implementation of network security access controls and protocols
  • Manage VoIP, VDI, and WiFi solutions, including user onboarding, troubleshooting, and offboarding

User Support & Management

  • Provide Level 1 and Level 2 technical support to end-users
  • Manage and resolve IT issues via the Jira ticketing system, ensuring timely updates and resolutions
  • Prepare and maintain user access reports
  • Deliver monthly status updates on support activities to the IT Manager

Daily Operations & System Maintenance

  • Act as a primary administrator for the Jira platform
  • Configure and maintain Jira workflows, settings, and system configurations
  • Evaluate, prioritise, and manage incoming tickets and technical requirements

Operational Resilience

  • Support the Operations Manager in identifying critical business services and dependencies
  • Assist in conducting business impact analyses and defining impact tolerances
  • Coordinate resilience testing and scenario analysis across departments
  • Contribute to the review and improvement of business continuity plans

Additional Responsibilities

  • Record IT and administrative expenses in the expense management system
  • Assist in responding to, preparing and reporting on requests related to our Group

Skills & Experience

Essential

  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • Strong interest in IT support and infrastructure (prior insurance industry experience not required)
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to learning
  • Strong written communication skills in English
  • Ability to communicate in Mandarin both written and spoken
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively in a fast-paced environment
