As part of this transformation, our Customer Solutions team works directly with enterprise brands and retailers to deploy mission-critical AI solutions tailored to each customer’s unique business requirements. This includes custom interfaces, enterprise-grade AI agents, integrations, onboarding, and solution consulting.
This role will report directly to the SVP of Customer Solutions at DaVinci Commerce.
About the RoleWe are looking for a highly technical and customer-facing Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) to join the Customer Solutions team at DaVinci Commerce.
This is a hybrid role that combines software engineering, solution architecture, AI agent deployment, customer onboarding, and technical consulting. You will work closely with enterprise customers to design, build, deploy, and support AI-powered commerce experiences using DaVinci Commerce’s APIs, MCP interfaces, and Agentic BrandStore framework.
As an FDE, you will bridge the gap between Product, Engineering, and Customers — acting as both a technical problem solver and trusted solution advisor. You will rapidly prototype customer-specific solutions, build scalable AI agents, conduct live demos, onboard enterprise clients, and ensure successful production deployments.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving real-world business problems, working directly with customers, and building production-ready AI systems that power commerce experiences for global brands.
Position OverviewWe’re seeking an engineer who is equally comfortable writing backend services, deploying AI agents, integrating APIs, and presenting solutions to customers.
The ideal candidate can:
- Build custom customer-facing tools and workflows quickly.
- Develop scalable, reliable AI agents for enterprise use cases.
- Work directly with customers during onboarding and implementation.
- Conduct product demonstrations and technical workshops.
- Troubleshoot production issues in mission-critical environments.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Product, Sales, and Customer Success teams.
You will help shape how enterprise customers adopt and scale DaVinci Commerce solutions globally.
Key Responsibilities Customer Deployments & Solution Engineering- Design, build, and deploy customer-specific AI commerce solutions using DaVinci Commerce APIs, MCP interfaces, and BrandStore Agent frameworks.
- Rapidly prototype custom workflows, interfaces, automations, and integrations for enterprise customers.
- Develop backend services, APIs, orchestration layers, and integrations required for customer deployments.
- Ensure deployed agents and solutions meet enterprise-grade reliability, scalability, and uptime requirements.
- Work closely with Product and Engineering teams to influence platform improvements based on customer feedback.
- Build and maintain production-grade AI agents for commerce and BrandStore use cases.
- Implement orchestration logic, state management, workflow automation, and service integrations.
- Optimize AI agent performance, reliability, observability, and fault tolerance.
- Support hosting, deployment, monitoring, and debugging of mission-critical customer-facing systems.
- Lead technical onboarding sessions for enterprise customers and partners.
- Train customer teams on DaVinci Commerce platform capabilities, workflows, and best practices.
- Create onboarding documentation, solution playbooks, and technical enablement material.
- Conduct technical workshops and hands-on implementation sessions with customers.
- Conduct live demos and technical presentations for enterprise customers and partners.
- Work alongside Customer Solutions, Sales, and Marketing teams during customer evaluations and solution discussions.
- Translate customer business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
- Serve as a technical advisor during enterprise implementation and expansion conversations.
- Partner with Engineering teams to productionize reusable customer solutions.
- Collaborate with Product Management to prioritize platform enhancements.
- Work closely with Customer Success to ensure long-term customer adoption and satisfaction.
- Contribute to internal best practices, deployment standards, and reusable solution frameworks.
- Strong programming experience in Python, Node.js, TypeScript, or similar backend technologies.
- Experience building APIs, microservices, integrations, and automation workflows.
- Hands-on experience deploying LLM-powered applications : working knowledge of agent orchestration, tool/function calling and prompt design for production use cases.
- Experience working with cloud infrastructure and deployment environments (AWS/GCP/Azure).
- Familiarity with databases, authentication systems, queues, monitoring, and distributed systems.
- Ability to use observability and monitoring tools to diagnose production issues in AI deployments.
- Experience with frontend/UI prototyping frameworks is a plus.
- Familiarity with MCP (Model Context Protocol) or similar agent communication standards is a strong plus.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Comfortable conducting live demos, workshops, and customer onboarding sessions.
- Strong problem-solving mindset with the ability to work independently in fast-paced environments.
- Ability to manage ambiguity and rapidly changing priorities.
- Experience working in solution engineering, forward deployed engineering, sales engineering, or customer solutions roles.
- Experience deploying AI/LLM-powered applications in production environments.
- Familiarity with agentic systems, workflow orchestration, and conversational AI platforms.
- Experience supporting enterprise customers and managing mission-critical deployments.
- Startup experience or experience working in high-growth AI companies is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 5 - 7 years of professional software engineering or solution engineering experience.
- Experience working with enterprise SaaS platforms, APIs, integrations, or AI systems.
- Prior customer-facing technical experience preferred.
- Work on cutting-edge AI commerce and agentic AI technologies.
