NEC Core Systems Subject Matter Expert (SME)- London/Remote - SC and NPPV3 cleared

We are looking for a highly experienced NEC Core Systems Subject Matter Expert to support an urgent assessment and transition programme within a secure policing environment.
This is a specialist requirement for someone with genuine hands-on experience of NEC policing applications, particularly ControlWorks, DSx and UNIFI.
The RoleYou will provide application-level expertise to assess the challenges, risks and requirements associated with transitioning support for critical operational policing systems.
Initially, you will participate in a small number of workshops and provide an application-by-application assessment covering support risks, knowledge gaps, dependencies and immediate priorities.
There is potential for this initial engagement to develop into a 5-day-per-week contract for approximately six months.
Essential ExperienceYou must have strong, hands-on knowledge of:
- NEC ControlWorks - Command & Control
- NEC DSx - Integrated Communications Control System
- NEC UNIFI - Crime & Intelligence RMS
- NEC application architecture, configuration and versions
- Interfaces, integrations and dependencies
- Vendor support arrangements and escalation paths
- Supporting critical applications within secure policing, Defence or similarly sensitive environments
Experience of TotalMobile GRS, duties or rostering systems would be advantageous.
What You'll Be DoingYou will:
- Assess application-specific transition and support risks
- Identify critical knowledge and documentation gaps
- Review licences, access requirements, service history, known defects and operational runbooks
- Identify vendor and third-party dependencies
- Assess risks across live Command & Control, communications and RMS data
- Challenge incumbent and vendor assumptions where appropriate
- Recommend practical actions and priorities for the first 30 days of transition

You must be comfortable translating deep application knowledge into clear, practical support and transition requirements.
Security ClearanceSC and/or NPPV3 clearance
Contract Initial engagement: 2-5 days at £200 - £250 per hour
Potential extension: 5 days per week for approximately 6 months at £800 - £875 per day
IR35: Outside IR35

This temporary contract is outside IR35 and will be delivered on a statement-of-work basis. The supplier will determine the method, resources, and approach to deliver the agreed outcomes
