Capacity Manager / IT Service Performance & Capacity Manager
DV Cleared Capacity Manager / IT Service Performance & Capacity Manager- 6 months+ - Full time on site in Wiltshire ( 5 days per week)
Looking for a Capacity Manager/ IT Service Performance & Capacity Manager who will be responsible for ensuring that VMware-based infrastructure capacity meets current and future business needs in a cost-effective, reliable, and scalable manner. The role applies ITIL capacity management practices to proactively plan, monitor, analyse, and optimie compute, storage, and network resources across on premise and hybrid VMware environments.
Key Duties:
- Own and execute the ITIL Capacity Management process, including Business, Service, and Component Capacity Management.
- Develop and maintain capacity plans, forecasts, and models for VMware environments.
- Ensure infrastructure capacity supports agreed SLAs
- Identify capacity risks, constraints, and performance bottlenecks before they impact services.
- Produce regular capacity and utilization reports, dashboards, and trend analyses.
- Support hardware refresh, expansion, and decommissioning decisions.
- Required Competencies:
- Experience of working in Defence
- Strong experience managing capacity
- Experience with capacity and monitoring tools (e.g., vRealize Operations or similar
- Strong understanding of ITIL 4 practices and service lifecycle concepts
- Experience working with Change, Incident, Problem, and Service Design processes
- Desired Competencies
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement
- Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Foundational knowledge of infrastructure technologies like VCF/VxRail is desired
