Unified Communications Consultant
**Unified Communications Consultant (Microsoft Focus) – Bristol or Manchester (with regular travel to client sites – 3-5 days per week – 18 month Fixed Term Contract - £55-70,000 per annum base + benefits**
Clearance Requirement: Must be eligible for SC (Security Check) clearance*
Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Unified Communications Consultant with a strong focus on Microsoft technologies to join our team on a large-scale, existing, and in-flight Teams Phone migration project. The successful candidate will act as the technical lead for the migration of sites from legacy PBX infrastructure to a Teams Phone solution. They will follow already defined process and migration activities as part of a transition run-book, and be the accountable technical stakeholder from site discovery through to go-live & early life support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Submission and management of number porting activities.
- Site discovery and data collation.
- Data analysis and migration strategy.
- Provide technical leadership during project delivery, including design, migration planning, and implementation.
- Conduct client workshops, assessments, and training sessions.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex UC issues, ensuring minimal downtime.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to align solutions with business objectives.
- Maintain documentation and provide knowledge transfer to client teams.
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience in Microsoft Unified Communications (Teams / Skype) and the wider ecosystem.
- Strong understanding of Microsoft 365, Azure, and related services.
- Expertise in voice integration, SBCs, and telephony migration.
- Familiarity with PowerShell scripting for automation and configuration.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work independently and travel regularly to client sites.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience with Direct Routing, Contact Centre integrations, and third-party UC solutions.
- Knowledge of networking fundamentals (QoS, SIP, DNS).
- Microsoft certifications (e.g., MS-700, MS-720, or equivalent).
Additional Information:
- This role may require travel (3–5 days per week) to client sites across the UK.
- Note that the role will include work within prisons
