PACS / RIS Assistant Band 4, Radiology

Job summary

To take a key role within the Radiology Team in supporting the delivery of the PACS & RIS Services throughout the Trust and associated Service Users, including account creation and password resets.

Provide first line support and incident resolution support to users of Radiology systems and services within Dartford & Gravesham NHS Trust and other PACS & RIS service users, acting as an effective interface between end users and the various system support teams at both a local and county level.

Undertake incident and service request recording and ensuring these are tracked effectively. Ensure escalation procedures are adhered to in response to Service Level Agreements and Major Incidents.

Exam management including image transfer, receipt and unspecified examination reconciliation.

The post holder will be expected to manage their own workload, taking advice from the PACS/RIS Manager if required.

In the absence of the PACS/RIS Manager the post holder will be required to maintain essential day-to-day activities and key communications.

Main duties of the job

To support the PACS/RIS Manager to facilitate smooth running of the associated services.

To co-ordinate and schedule PACS & RIS training for users.

To investigate enquiries, queries from staff, offer advice/solutions and inform the PACS/RIS Manager, if appropriate

Receive communication from system users in relation to incidents, service requests and general queries. Acting in a professional manner at all times, act as a communication conduit between the various I.T. support teams and the users of the PACS & RIS services.

Ensure the provision of security password access to users.

Ensure that all correspondence, messages and enquiries are prioritised and communicated to the PACS/RIS Manager. In his/her absence initiate prompt and appropriate action where necessary, ensuring the timely receipt, completeness, collation and distribution of information.
