We're looking to recruit a Senior Product Manager for a technology driven public sector organisation that is undergoing a major digital transformation. They are looking for an experienced Senior Product Manager to lead one of the most strategically important areas in their digital roadmap.
This is a key leadership role within the digital and data team, reporting to the newly appointed Director of Digital. It offers a unique opportunity to influence how the organisation captures, manages and shares data, and how reusable, scalable digital components are developed to improve service delivery and reduce the regulatory burden.
This is a hybrid role and you will be required to work on site in Brighton once / twice a week.
About the role
The focus of this role is to define and lead the roadmap for common digital components, in particular a strategic capability around 'Obtaining Data' from regulated organisations. This work sits at the heart of a shift to become a more risk-based, data-driven regulator with stronger digital capabilities.
You will be responsible for aligning product strategy with organisational priorities, collaborating closely with product managers, architects, platform teams and user-centred design experts. You'll engage both internal stakeholders and the external market, helping the organisation adopt proven digital approaches and deliver better outcomes through smarter services.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and lead the roadmap for common digital components, especially the 'Obtain Data' product area
- Coordinate with other product managers to ensure a cohesive, organisation-wide product strategy
- Identify and define pilot use cases, resource needs and delivery dependencies
- Work with business areas and UCD teams to define outcomes, user research plans and service blueprints
- Engage with architecture and platform teams to design scalable, reusable components (e.g. APIs)
- Ensure alignment with broader data, digital and regulatory strategies
- Drive agile, cross-functional delivery across product lifecycles, from ideation through to launch
- Work closely with internal stakeholders, tech teams and external partners to share learning and drive adoption
- Help reduce regulatory burden by delivering digital services that are efficient, reliable and user-centred
About you
You'll be a confident, strategic product leader with strong delivery instincts and the ability to operate at pace in a complex environment. You're comfortable navigating ambiguity, influencing senior stakeholders, and turning strategic ideas into practical, scalable solutions.
Essential experience:
- Extensive experience in senior digital product roles, ideally within complex or regulated environments
- A strong background in delivering digital and data products within a transformation context
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, including working at executive level
- Experience developing roadmaps, defining use cases, and leading cross-functional delivery teams
- Knowledge of service design, user research and agile delivery in multidisciplinary settings
- Strong understanding of data-driven services and API-led product development
Desirable experience:
- Familiarity with government digital service standards and assurance processes
- Background in financial services or regulatory technology
This is a high-impact role that offers the chance to shape one of the most strategically important areas of digital transformation within the public sector. If you thrive in fast-paced, mission-led environments and want to deliver meaningful change through smart digital solutions, we'd love to hear from you.
