Cisco Network EngineerPermanentLocation: WorcesterSalary: £45,000 - £55,000 + benefitsSkills: Cisco, Routing & Switching, Firewalls, VPNs, LAN / WAN, Wi-Fi, OSPF, BGP, EIGRPWe're looking for a Cisco Network Engineer to join a growing technology business based in Worcester.This is a great opportunity for a Network Engineer with solid Cisco networking experience who wants to develop further across customer projects, enterprise networking, firewalls, wireless and network security.The role would suit someone who has built strong hands-on experience in network support, implementation or project environments and is now looking for broader exposure across design, delivery and complex customer networks.The RoleYou'll be involved in the implementation, support and documentation of network infrastructure across LAN, WAN, wireless and security technologies.Working as part of an experienced technical team, you'll support customer projects, configure and troubleshoot network equipment, assist with installations, and help resolve technical issues across varied client environments.You'll also have the opportunity to build your skills across Cisco firewalls, VPNs, routing protocols, wireless and enterprise networking technologies.Key ResponsibilitiesConfigure and support Cisco routers, switches, firewalls and VPNsAssist with the implementation of LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi and security solutionsSupport customer projects and onsite installationsTroubleshoot network issues across routing, switching, wireless and securityProduce clear technical documentationWork with senior engineers on network assessments, upgrades and project deliverySupport service desk escalation where requiredLiaise with customers, internal teams and third-party suppliersParticipate in an on-call rota, typically every 6-8 weeksSkills & ExperienceHands-on Cisco networking experienceGood routing and switching knowledgeExposure to routing protocols such as OSPF, BGP or EIGRPFirewall and VPN experience, ideally Cisco ASA / FTDWireless experience, ideally Cisco Catalyst and/or MerakiStrong troubleshooting and analytical skillsGood communication skills with technical and non-technical usersA proactive, customer-focused approachFull UK driving licenceCCNA / CCNP-level knowledge would be useful, but practical hands-on experience is most important.Experience with tools such as PRTG, Wireshark or NetFlow would be beneficial.
