A rapidly scaling international data centre platform is seeking a technically strong Operations Manager to play a key role in operational governance, electrical safety and continuous improvement across live critical infrastructure.
This is not a generic facilities leadership role.
The business is specifically looking for someone with a strong mechanical or electrical background, who has operated as an HVAP (High Voltage Authorised Person) and ideally a SAP (Senior Authorised Person) — and who wants to develop towards becoming a company Authorising Engineer (AE) longer term.

The Role
You will act as a technical and procedural custodian across operational campuses — ensuring that critical environment standards, switching procedures, training frameworks and audit processes are robust, aligned and continuously improving.
This role sits at the intersection of:
- Electrical safety governance
- Operational process ownership
- Technical training and competency frameworks
- Audit and compliance
- Continuous improvement across live environments
You will work closely with Campus Operations leadership, service delivery, commercial teams and technical stakeholders to ensure safe, resilient and efficient operation of critical infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and develop critical environment processes and operational playbooks
- Align global standards with site-specific and customer requirements
- Oversee HV safety procedures, switching governance and compliance frameworks
- Lead root cause analysis (RCA) and embed “lessons learned” into operational standards
- Develop and deliver technical training
- Design and execute audit scopes across live campuses and vendor partners
- Act as key stakeholder in CAFM system development and process integration
- Support energy optimisation initiatives alongside technical teams
- Drive continuous improvement across electrical and mechanical infrastructure operations
What We’re Looking For
- Qualified in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
- Strong technical background in mission-critical environments
- Experience operating as an HVAP, ideally with SAP appointment
- Solid understanding of switching procedures, isolation protocols and electrical risk management
- Experience working in live data centre or critical infrastructure environments
- Strong process orientation and governance mindset
- Comfortable working cross-functionally across operations, commercial and technical teams
- Ambition to develop toward Authorising Engineer level
