Information Assurance Deputy Manager – Berkshire – remote with occasional travel – Permanent 37.5 hours per week – £70,000 - £90,000 – SC Clearance

Our client are a large scale Defence company looking for a Deputy IA Manager to focus on making sure highly sensitive information is secure and compliant.

Our client is looking for an Information Assurance Deputy Manager to lead defence security assurance activities whist interacting with MOD stakeholders.

You'll need solid IA experience, a strong grasp of security risk management, and the confidence to chair meetings with senior stakeholders.

Working Patterns and location – predominantly remote with travel to other sites when required.

The Key Responsibilities of a Information Assurance Deputy Manager:

  • Support the System Design Authority with development and management of system architecture and security requirements.
  • Formulate, record and manage security risks across programmes, developing mitigation plans as needed.
  • Develop and manage Risk Management Framework documents and associated controls.
  • Chair and participate in engineering design reviews and respond to customer technical queries.
  • Support bid proposal development, project planning, task execution, tracking and reporting.
  • Manage and develop team members, providing leadership within a matrix management organisation.
  • Engage with MOD and external customers at senior level, providing assurance and innovative risk-based solutions.
  • Decompose and analyse security requirements, supporting Secure by Design principles across programmes.

Below is a list of Key Skills required for a Information Assurance Deputy Manager, however you will not be expected to have everything:

  • Strong knowledge of Information Assurance processes and procedures in a Defence environment.
  • Experience formulating, recording and managing security risk on complex programmes.
  • Proven ability to engage and chair meetings with senior customers and stakeholders.
  • Experience supporting development of Risk Management Framework documents and controls.
  • Understanding of Secure by Design principles and how to apply them.
  • Experience working with the MOD or equivalent agencies on projects above OFFICIAL-SENSITIVE.
  • Strong personnel management track record within a fast-paced, matrix organisation.
  • Experience or knowledge of Supply Chain security management.

The client would also like to see some of the below, but this is not essential:

  • Working knowledge of NIST Risk Management Framework or ISO 27001 / equivalent standards.
  • Working knowledge of HMG Security Policy Framework and GovS 007: Security.
  • Experience or understanding of Cryptography including relevant processes and procedures.
  • Professional Information Security certification such as CISSP, CISM, CRISC or equivalent.
  • Experience of assessing systems in non-standard environments or working on bid teams.
  • Working knowledge of Personnel Security and Physical Security principles.
