The Key Responsibilities of a Palantir Engineering Consultant:

  • Use Palantir Foundry’s data engineering capabilities to build clean, consistent, and reusable data assets that support a range of downstream needs, including AI models, operational tools, and analytical reporting.
  • Create and maintain scalable data pipelines and data models in Foundry, utilising its ingestion, transformation, and storage features, while working closely with wider engineering and development teams.
  • Introduce new solutions and creative methods to tackle complex data engineering challenges within the Foundry environment, improving data efficiency and taking advantage of advanced platform components such as artifacts and compute modules.
  • Design and deliver Foundry implementations that can support large-scale, intricate use cases, unlocking value for varied users and business functions, with a strong emphasis on building and refining the Foundry Ontology.
  • Shape and manage Foundry data models and governance frameworks, establishing data standards, ensuring high levels of data quality, and maintaining clear lineage across the platform.
  • Develop end-user applications within the Foundry environment using both low-code and full-code approaches, enabling intuitive access to data and insights.

Below is a list of Key Skills required for the Palantir Engineering Consultant, however you will not be expected to have everything:

  • Collect, process, enhance, and consolidate data from multiple sources, shaping it into reliable, well-organised information assets within the Palantir Foundry platform.
  • Develop, refine, and automate ETL pipelines and data workflows using Foundry’s toolset to efficiently move, transform, and prepare data for use across the business.
  • Improve and maintain data systems within Foundry to ensure they are high-performing, scalable, resilient, and easily monitored.
  • Oversee data governance activities in Foundry, including managing metadata, safeguarding data quality, and ensuring clear lineage across all datasets.
  • Configure, support, and sustain mission-oriented workflows within Palantir Gotham for Defence and military operations.

We are seeking individuals who combine strong technical capability with commercial awareness—people who can clearly communicate the purpose, impact, and value of the solutions they deliver. Ideal candidates will bring experience in several of the following areas:

  • Hands-on delivery of end-to-end data solutions, including pipeline development, ETL design, and workflow orchestration, with proven expertise in Palantir Foundry and Gotham.
  • Experience working with varied data inputs—streaming, real-time, batch, and unstructured—and integrating them effectively within the Foundry platform.
  • Ability to think holistically and architect scalable, performant data ecosystems using Foundry’s toolset.
  • Strong grounding in data modelling, Ontology development, and database optimisation, supported by examples of logical and physical modelling work within Foundry.
  • Experience managing, diagnosing, and improving Foundry pipelines to ensure stability, accuracy, and efficiency.
  • Practical coding ability that reflects clean engineering principles—modular, maintainable, and efficient—across languages such as Python and TypeScript.
  • Familiarity with the full software development lifecycle, including version control practices, CI/CD pipelines, and modern delivery approaches for data products.
  • Knowledge of core data management disciplines—security, governance, metadata, and master data—with practical application across the Palantir platform.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to translate business needs into clear technical solutions and effective Foundry implementations.
