Project Delivery Manager – Essex – 12 Month Contract (37 hours per week) - £340 - £352 per day (Inside IR35) – SC Clearance or willing to undergo

Our client are a large defence company looking for a Project Manager to deliver a large scale transformation project.

Our client are currently undergoing a large ERP rollout and are looking for a Project Manager to deliver transformation initiatives through to implementation.

Working Patterns and location – This is a hybrid role based in Essex. Ideally 2-3 days per week on site.

The Key Responsibilities of a Transformation Manager:

• Take full accountability for the delivery of assigned transformation initiatives.
• Develop and maintain robust project plans, including scope, milestones, dependencies, risks, issues, benefits, and resource requirements.
• Lead cross‐functional project teams, ensuring clear ownership, accountability, and delivery against agreed objectives.
• Manage project governance, reporting, and assurance in line with organisational project management frameworks and standards.
• Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate delivery risks.
• Drive stakeholder engagement and alignment across operational, functional, and leadership teams.
• Support transformation initiatives such as process standardisation, system implementation, operating model redesign, and capability uplift.
• Ensure change impacts are understood and managed, working with stakeholders to support adoption and sustainability of delivered outcomes.
• Prepare and present clear, concise updates for senior stakeholders, steering committees, or programme boards.

Below is a list of Key Skills required for a Transformation Manager, however you will not be expected to have everything:

• Proven experience as a Transformation Delivery Manager or Project Manager, delivering complex projects end‐to‐end.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple workstreams and stakeholders in complex, matrixed environments.
• Strong experience delivering process, systems, or operating model change.
• Excellent planning, organisation, and execution skills with a strong focus on outcomes.
• Proven ability to work autonomously, take ownership, and drive delivery with minimal supervision.
• Strong stakeholder‐management and communication skills, with confidence engaging at senior levels.
• Experience producing high‐quality project documentation, reporting, and governance artefacts.

The client would also like to see some of the below, but this is not essential:

• Formal project management certification or training.
• Experience delivering transformation in large, regulated, or complex organisations.
• Exposure to system implementations (e.g. ERP, planning tools, data platforms).
• Experience working within formal enterprise PMO or governance frameworks.
• Strong change management awareness and experience supporting adoption.
• Background in manufacturing, engineering, aerospace, defence, or technology environments.
• Ability to stabilise under‐defined initiatives and bring structure quickly.
• Experience working alongside senior leaders, programme directors, or transformation leads
