Project Manager

Project Manager – Corsham – 6 Month Contract (40 hours per week) – £546 – £646 per day Inside IR35 – DV Cleared

Our client is a consultancy working in the Defence industry. They are looking for an experienced DV Cleared Project Manager to join on an initial 6-month contract in Corsham, to coordinate and track the delivery of outputs arising from an approved Business Case across multiple active workstreams.

Working Patterns and location – 4 days on-site initially (reducing to approx. 3 days Mon–Wed from July; Thursdays as required)

The Key Responsibilities of a Project Manager:

  • Communicate with stakeholders to identify project requirements, delivery timelines and costs
  • Coordinate and manage the delivery of outputs defined within an approved Business Case across multiple workstreams
  • Deliver the project to the scope, time and cost parameters agreed with the client, to include:
  • Preparing project plans to guide clients, staff members and project teams; which includes factoring in/liaising with business change and technical delivery;
  • Revising project plans/budgets/resourcing as needed over the course of the project;
  • Working with technical delivery/others as appropriate to prepare recommendations to the customer, and present to senior stakeholders for their consideration.
  • Being responsible for the financial management of projects, including understanding of risk and cost mitigation for delivery. Ensuring projects are delivered within agreed budgets.
  • Encouraging and facilitating continuous improvement of the delivery team.
  • Develop excellent leadership, customer relations and communication skills to consult effectively with all project stakeholders
  • Responsible for the performance of the team both from a customer deliverable perspective and from a commercial perspective.
  • Have knowledge of key senior stakeholder relationships to cultivate and contribute to the achievement of the company strategy.

Below is a list of Key Skills required for a Project Manager, however you will not be expected to have everything:

  • Proven experience as a Project Manager delivering within a Defence or Government environment
  • Demonstrable experience managing multiple workstreams against a defined set of outputs or deliverables
  • Strong governance skills, project plans, reporting and scheduling
  • Confident engaging with and reporting to senior stakeholders
  • Familiarity with formal PM methodologies PRINCE2, MSP, Agile or similar
