Senior Software Developer – Cheshire– Permanent (37.5 hours per week) – £55, 000 - £60,000 per annum

In this role, you will drive the architecture and strategic direction of proprietary software products while mentoring and developing a skilled team of developers. You’ll play a key role in shaping technical decisions, influencing project outcomes, and ensuring solutions remain modern, scalable, and competitive. This is a genuine opportunity to make a tangible impact on both the team and the ongoing evolution of the product suite.

Working Patterns: This is a hybrid role with 2-3 days on site per week.

The Key Responsibilities of a Senior Software Developer:

  • Lead and develop a small team, fostering a collaborative culture that promotes innovation, continuous improvement, and professional growth.
  • Take ownership of the architecture and design of large-scale, long-lifecycle systems, ensuring they effectively support multiple customers.
  • Collaborate closely with Technical Analysts to translate business requirements into clear, structured, and deliverable work packages.
  • Influence and guide the development of cloud-based solutions, ensuring alignment with Azure architecture and best practices.
  • Establish and maintain high standards across the team, driving best practices, coding quality, and strong technical governance.
  • Oversee delivery across the full project lifecycle, ensuring solutions are delivered on time, within budget, and to a high standard of quality.

Below is a list of Key Skills required for the Senior Software Developer, however you will not be expected to have everything:

  • Strong experience in application software development, particularly within large-scale, long-lifecycle systems.
  • Proven expertise in ASP.NET, C#, MS SQL, and the .NET framework, with experience in .NET 6+ considered advantageous.
  • Solid understanding of the full software development lifecycle, including version control systems and work tracking tools.

The client would also like to see some of the below, but this is not essential:

  • Experience within the Food Production sector is highly desirable and would be a distinct advantage.
  • Good working knowledge of Azure and Cosmos DB, with an understanding of cloud-based technologies.
  • Microsoft certifications, or equivalent professional qualifications, are beneficial.
