Software Tester
Software Test Engineer – Cheltenham – Permanent (40 hours per week) – £55,000 - £60,000 per annum – Willing to Undergo SC Clearance

Our client is looking for experienced Test Engineers working across the software development lifecycle, ensuring that applications are functional, reliable, and user-friendly before being released to end users.
Working Patterns: This role is based full time on site.
The Key Responsibilities of a Software Test Engineer:
- Support manual and automation testing.
- Work across unit, performance, integration, system, acceptance and usability testing as required
- Designing, developing, and executing test plans and cases based on requirements and technical specifications
- Identifying, documenting, and reporting bugs, errors, and inconsistencies
- Collaborating with developers to troubleshoot and resolve issues
- Enhancing and automating test procedures to improve efficiency and effectiveness
- Contributing to product design reviews by highlighting potential risks, issues, and usability concerns
- Partnering with cross-functional teams to maintain quality throughout development
- Performing post-release/implementation testing to confirm requirements are met
- Assessing and recommending new tools and methodologies to optimize testing processes
- Preparing clear reports on testing outcomes to inform stakeholders and guide decision-making
Below is a list of Key Skills required for the Software Test engineer role , however you will not be expected to have everything:
- Minimum of 5 years experience within Software Testing
- Some experience of mentoring/leading junior engineers
- Defence/Government experience required if no automation testing experience
- A good communicator and excellent at engaging with stakeholders
- An interest in automation testing if lacking experience
