We can consider contractors for an initial period (12 Months)
Rate: £390 per day - £850 per day depending on amount of years / depth of experience on an Inside IR35 basis
Datasource has been appointed as a partner for our clients Defence Systems Engineering growth plan! We are excited to be hiring MoD DV Cleared Systems Engineers at all levels UK wide.
You’ll ideally currently be working within the MoD (Defence, Aerospace, Nuclear, Naval or similar) with a background in engineering, MoD site community planning, scientific and technical consulting or technical testing and systems analysis.
As a team, you will be handling the Systems Engineering challenges, we need a mixture of engineers who can work left side, right side and both sides of the V model. Therefore, you’ll either be focused on Requirements and/or Design and Architecture and/or Validation and Testing or the Full V Model Lifecycle.

This is a slightly hybrid role with 4-5 days per week on site (we have sites UK wide so please get in touch to find out more).
The Key Responsibilities of a Systems Engineer:
Deliver engineering outputs within time, cost and quality.
Provide Systems Engineering consultancy, acting as a trusted advisor to the customer.
Work on the Left-hand side and/or the Right-hand side of the V Systems Lifecycle from requirements through to design, through to Validation and Testing. As a group of Systems Engineers you need to cover the whole of the V lifecycle. As individuals, we expect that you’ll be more focused/expert in one area of the V Systems Lifecycle.
Develop architectural definitions and plans.
Develop Validation Acceptance Testing, Systems Testing and Integration Testing.
Lead the use of best practice techniques and tools.
Develop and implement strategies to achieve successful decision milestones.
Lead the integration of systems in urban plans/site facilities.
Below is a list of Key Skills required for the Systems Engineer role, however you will not be expected to have everything:
Equivalent experience within a Systems Engineering position, ideally within Defence, Naval, Aerospace, Nuclear or related industry.
Highly experienced and passionate about either:
MBSE (eg. Sparx EA or Cameo) OR Requirements Engineering expert (DOORs) OR Systems Design/Architecture or Validation and Testing Expert.
Experience working for a Consultancy company would be favourable because of the complex nature of the customers requirements.
Knowledge of modelling languages and architecture frameworks (UML/SysML, ArchiMate, TOGAF, MODAF).
Knowledge across the whole engineering lifecycle – desirable.
