We’re partnering with a dynamic and fast-growing financial services SME that is investing heavily in its research and development capability. We’re looking for a highly numerate Technical Project Manager with around 5+ years’ experience, ideally with an earlier background in software development or engineering, who can confidently lead complex technical projects in a fast-paced environment.

The Role

You’ll be responsible for managing multiple technical projects end-to-end, working closely with engineering teams and business stakeholders to ensure successful delivery. This role offers high visibility and the opportunity to directly influence technical strategy, processes, and outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee multiple technical projects, ensuring timely and successful delivery
  • Develop and maintain clear project roadmaps aligned with business objectives
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams and manage priorities effectively
  • Identify risks, opportunities, and areas for process improvement
  • Provide structure, leadership, and direction to technical teams
  • Monitor progress, optimise workflows, and ensure efficient resource allocation
  • Produce clear documentation and communicate updates to stakeholders
  • Drive continuous improvement across tools, processes, and delivery standards

Skills & Experience

Essential:

  • 5+ years’ experience in Technical Project Management
  • Previous experience as a software developer or engineer
  • Strong technical understanding of software systems and infrastructure
  • Experience working closely with engineering and development teams
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Degree in a technical, engineering, or related discipline
  • Database knowledge (SQL Server, Oracle, or similar)

Desirable:

  • Experience with version control tools (Git, PlasticSCM, Hg)
  • Familiarity with project management tools such as YouTrack
