Data Analyst Tester (FTC 6 months)

The Data Analyst/Tester Analyst will be responsible for supporting the delivery of high quality data solutions.

This shall include a good understanding of Management Information and Business Intelligence needs of Davies’ clients and needs across the organisation. They will produce key analysis needed to build appropriate solutions and will be able to work with Clients, Client Account Managers and Senior Managers.

They will work side-by-side with developers and members of the business to capture requirements and help shape the development of the Davies reports and dashboards. This will involve; but is not limited to, creating and managing a suite of specifications.

They will also be a key person in the mass migration of data between systems, leading on understanding, interpreting and mapping data between systems, to enable successful data loads, and, as such, the role requires prior experience of working in data and data migrations.

You will support the Product Owner in providing any analysis needed to ensure consistent high quality deliveries of data projects. You will also support and assist with any testing needed on the data projects, providing sufficient test coverage for the data projects, ensuring that the data and the functionality of the systems is to a high standard, with minimal bugs finding their way into production.

You must be able to work within an agile team and be able to manage your time effectively. You must self-motivated, enthusiastic and have a natural thirst for exploring new technologies.

What will your day look like:
  • Hold requirements meetings with appropriate representatives to elicit requirements.
  • Create any necessary requirements documentation in order to support the development of the required solution using most appropriate tools.
  • Understand, interpret and translate data
  • Liaise with appropriate representatives and support teams to ensure that the solutions provided are fit for purpose at point of delivery and throughout the solutions life.
  • Act as a Change Lead and be the point of contact, effectively and efficiently distributing any communications.
  • Investigate third line support issues and liaise with the relevant area for resolution.
  • Build strong working relationships with stakeholders.
  • Coach and mentor new employees in familiarising themselves with analysis procedures, processes and systems.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the Product Owner with accountability and responsibility defined prior to the commencement of these duties.
  • Support testing throughout change lifecycle. Includes acceptance and system testing.
  • A flexible approach is required and out of hours working is expected to support business as usual activities or project deadlines.
Knowledge and Abilities:
  • Must have a minimum of 3 years’ experience 
  • They must also have a strong understanding of data and the way data is used within the Davies business.

  • Demonstrate Agile – Experience of Agile Scrum methodology.
