Head of Machine Learning to lead and scale advanced ML initiatives within a world-class visual effects (VFX) and creative technology organisation. This fully remote-in-Europe role is perfect for a strategic leader with deep experience in both cutting-edge research and production deployment, particularly in generative AI and video/visual domains.

About the Role

As Head of Machine Learning, you will set the vision and lead the team that moves state-of-the-art machine learning from research into reliable, production-ready systems. You’ll drive innovation in advanced deep learning, computer vision, and audio-visual modelling, ensuring solutions are not only scientifically ambitious but also production-safe and aligned with real world creative workflows.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and execute the strategic ML roadmap, with a focus on generative AI, neural rendering, and video-centric models deployed in production pipelines.
  • Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing team of ML researchers and engineers, bridging research excellence with engineering discipline.
  • Collaborate across product, engineering, and creative departments to integrate research breakthroughs into scalable, production-ready solutions that support VFX and content creation workflows.
  • Stay at the forefront of generative video, 3D neural rendering, multimodal models, and related disciplines to inform technology choices and R&D prioritisation.

Required Experience

  • Proven leadership experience in machine learning or AI, with a record of driving projects from research into production.
  • Deep technical expertise in deep learning frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow) and modern video/vision generative techniques.
  • Strong understanding of Vision Transformers and Diffusion, with proven experience bridging the gap between research & production.
