Deerfoot Recruitment is partnering with a leading international banking group to appoint a Head of Accounting Technology. This is a senior leadership role, responsible for the global Accounting Technology pillar within Finance Technology, overseeing both business-as-usual (BAU) operations and major change initiatives across EMEA, Americas, and Asia.

You will lead a team of technologists (onshore and offshore) in a Matrix-managed environment, ensuring the stability and continual improvement of a large-scale, global ERP estate (Oracle Cloud Fusion Financials) and related finance platforms. The role is a blend of BAU oversight (30-40%) and transformation/project delivery (60-70%), requiring both strong technical acumen and proven leadership in complex, regulated environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and provide functional management for a global team supporting Oracle Cloud Fusion Financials and related accounting technology platforms.
• Oversee BAU support, ensuring system uptime, performance, and prompt resolution of day-to-day queries.
• Drive and provide technical leadership for change initiatives, transformation projects, and upgrades.
• Set best practices and steer project delivery in a mature, largely self-sufficient team.
• Ensure robust governance, compliance, and operational excellence, supporting audits and demonstrating strong controls.
• Collaborate with Finance, IT, and project teams to deliver high-quality solutions and seamless transitions into production.
• Operate effectively within a Matrix management structure, working with local offices for HR/admin matters.

About You:

• Proven experience managing/supporting large-scale, multinational ERP systems (ideally Oracle Cloud Fusion Financials; SAP also considered).
• Strong technical proficiency and ability to provide technical leadership (not a hands-on coding role, but must understand technical challenges and best practices).
• Breadth of experience across accounting technology and finance systems, with an ability to lead both BAU and change/project work.
• Experience working in a global, Matrix-managed environment.
• Experience in financial services/banking is preferred but not essential if you have relevant transferable skills.
• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Contract/Working Arrangements:

• Initial 6-month day rate contract (inside IR35), with potential for temp-to-perm transition if mutually agreeable.
• Current expectation is 2 days onsite per week (due to office refurbishments); may temporarily increase to 5 days per week after works, then 3 days/week if the role becomes permanent.
