Rubrik expertise is the whole point of this role.

One of the world's largest financial groups deployed Rubrik into part of its estate a few months ago. It's running - an offshore team handles the day-to-day - but the engineering isn't finished. It needs tailoring properly into the environment, immutability and archive strategy still need designing out, and the choices made along the way by an engineer learning the product as he went deserve a proper review against best practice.

The engineer who led that work is retiring. They need someone who already knows Rubrik at depth to pick it up, finish the job properly, and leave the platform in the shape it should have been in from the start. Whilst a permanent replacement is sought, a contractor needs to be brought in.

This is an engineering role, not an operations one. If your Rubrik experience is running backups, rerunning failures and onboarding new clients, this isn't the one - they already have that covered. What You'll Be Doing

• Taking Rubrik engineering ownership - design, deployment and configuration to vendor best practice
• Designing and implementing the immutability and retention-lock approach
• Designing the archive strategy and seeing it through to implementation
• Reviewing the existing deployment against best practice, identifying what needs putting right, and putting it right
• Extending Rubrik into further parts of the estate
• SLA Domain design, retention policy, replication and cluster capacity planning
• Acting as the senior Rubrik technical point for an offshore run team and for colleagues across the technology function
• Contributing to the wider backup and storage estate - NetWorker, Data Domain and connected storage platforms - alongside the Rubrik work

What You'll Bring

• Deep, hands-on Rubrik experience. This is the requirement, not one line among many. You'll be asked for specifics at interview, so be ready to talk about what you've designed, built and configured rather than what you've been exposed to
• A track record of designing and deploying Rubrik to best practice, rather than administering a platform someone else built
• Working knowledge of immutability and retention lock, archive and tiering design, SLA Domains, and Rubrik cluster sizing and expansion
• Familiarity with both Rubrik CDM and Rubrik Security Cloud / Polaris
• Useful to have, but not essential: Dell EMC NetWorker and Data Domain, plus broader storage exposure across Isilon/PowerScale, Unity, ECS and Cisco SAN
• Financial services or another regulated environment, where retention, immutability and restore reliability carry audit weight

The Practical Details

• Inside IR35, engaged through an FCSA-accredited umbrella company of your choice
• Initial contract through to the end of March, with a view to extending
• Four days on site in the City of London, minutes from Moorgate, one day from home. This pattern is fixed
• Two interview stages as standard, Teams or face-to-face
