Systems Engineer - Seeker Modelling & Simulation
Location : Stevenage or Bristol
Hybrid working : 4-5 days per week on-site

Our client, a leader in the defence sector, is currently seeking a Systems Engineer - Seeker Modelling & Simulation to join their dynamic team in either Stevenage or Bristol. In this role, you will be involved in a variety of innovative projects developing groundbreaking technologies. The position offers opportunities to support field trials and collaborate with a dedicated team of engineers to further your career development.

• Performing activities including modelling, algorithm development, and systems studies
• Simulation and modelling of the entire Seeker chain from radar propagation to hardware response
• Developing algorithms that are auto-coded directly from models
• Supporting field trials and laboratory testing
• Engaging in multiple Seeker programmes, including Future Cruise Anti-Ship Weapon (FC/ASW) and Meteor
• Developing Active Electronically Scanned Arrays (AESAs) and highly integrated multi-mode sensors
• Participating in progression and development opportunities within the department
• Interacting with stakeholders across a multinational engineering team

• Experience in modelling and coding
• Proficiency in algorithm development
• Ability to conduct data analysis and technical report writing
• Proficiency in MATLAB and development of models in Simulink
• Adaptable and proactive approach to problem-solving
• Degree level qualification in a STEM subject or equivalent experience
• Ability to achieve the appropriate level of security clearance (SC or DV)

• Formal software or firmware development experience
• Knowledge of RF systems and digital signal processing
• Experience with model verification, configuration control, and model release processes
• Knowledge of continuous integration and testing
• Understanding of machine learning and AI
