Role:

We are looking for a highly experienced and dynamic Project Manager to lead the end-to-end implementation of a new approach to a payment services project. This is a high-profile, complex project encompassing end to end process design, supplier management and control.

This role offers a unique opportunity to shape a payment process that will impact to the entire organisation, working with senior stakeholders across the business, IT, Legal, and external partners. Experience in the implementation of a payment platform would be ideal along with an appreciation of Finance change and the relevant controls that must be in place.

Responsibilities

  • Project Leadership: Provide comprehensive leadership for the entire project lifecycle, from strategy and planning through to execution, monitoring, and successful delivery.
  • Technical System Implementation: Oversee the selection, configuration, integration, and deployment of new payment card and associated process change, ensuring they meet business requirements, control points and integrate seamlessly with existing systems.
  • Service Design & Transition: Design and implement the operational model for the new payment process, ensuring a smooth and efficient transition from current arrangements to the new.
  • Commercial & Procurement: Partner with Procurement to implement new commercial agreements with vendors, ensuring optimal value, service levels, and contractual compliance.
  • Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with senior stakeholders across all functions (e.g., Finance, IT, Legal, Procurement) and external vendors, ensuring alignment and buy-in.
  • Risk & Issue Management: Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate Project risks and issues, developing contingency plans and escalating where necessary.
  • Budget & Resource Management: Manage the Project budget, resources, and timelines effectively, ensuring delivery within agreed parameters.
  • Change Management: Develop and execute a robust change management strategy to ensure successful adoption of the new travel service across the organisation.
  • Reporting & Governance: Establish and maintain robust Project governance, providing regular, clear, and concise reporting to steering committees and senior leadership.

Required Experience

  • Proven track record as a Project Manager, successfully delivering complex, multi-faceted Projects within large, matrixed organisations.
  • Demonstrable experience in leading large-scale payment process implementations and implementation of finance / expense process change.
  • Strong background in vendor management and contract establishment.

Essential Skills:

  • Direct, hands-on experience with Finance projects ideally in a payment space
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a pragmatic approach to delivery.
  • Proficiency in Project management methodologies (e.g., MSP, PRINCE2, Agile).
  • Ability to manage multiple workstreams, priorities, and dependencies effectively.

Desirable Skills & Experience:

  • Professional certifications such as MSP, PMP, or PRINCE2 Practitioner.
  • Experience within the professional services industry
