I am supporting a well-established global engineering organisation in their search for a Software Manager to lead international software teams and drive the development of their next generation of technical software platforms. Their solutions support a wide range of high-value industries, including manufacturing, aerospace, medical technology, automotive, electronics and industrial R&D.

This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of technically challenging applications that turn complex engineering workflows into intuitive, high-performance software used by customers worldwide.

The Role

As Software Manager , you will:

• Lead and develop distributed software teams across multiple global locations
• Deliver robust, user-friendly Windows desktop applications for advanced engineering systems
• Manage the full software development lifecycle using agile methodologies
• Oversee UI/UX development, guided workflows, analysis tools and automated reporting capabilities
• Shape software architecture, source control strategy, CI/CD pipelines and testing frameworks
• Ensure seamless integration between software platforms and hardware systems
• Work collaboratively with cross-functional engineering, product and project teams
• Travel internationally to align teams and support development activities

Candidate Profile

We are keen to speak with individuals who have:

• A degree in a Science or Engineering discipline
• Experience leading agile software development teams
• Strong communication skills and confidence working across international groups
• A proven track record in people development and delivery leadership
• Experience architecting and designing large-scale Windows desktop applications
• Understanding of software–hardware interaction, ideally within technical or instrumentation environments
• Knowledge of source control and branching strategies (e.g., Git, Perforce)
• Experience with CI/CD and automated build systems (e.g., DevOps, TeamCity, VisualBuild)
• Familiarity with software testing and automation tools (e.g., TestComplete)
• Background in engineering, analysis, measurement, automation, or related workflows (advantageous)
