Engineering Maintenance Assistant

Working alongside experienced Maintenance Technicians, you'll play a key role in keeping our automated systems operating safely and efficiently.
- Providing first-line response to faults, blockages and issues across automated material handling equipment
- Assisting with planned preventative maintenance activities
- Supporting Maintenance Technicians during breakdowns and repair activities
- Completing planned and reactive work orders within agreed service levels
- Carrying out maintenance tasks under approved Safe Systems of Work, Risk Assessments and Method Statements
- Resolving operational issues within agreed timescales to maintain service delivery
- Using maintenance systems and tools to support effective fault resolution
- Identifying opportunities to improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime
- Maintaining excellent relationships with customer teams on site
- Ensuring all activities are completed safely and in line with company procedures
- Contributing ideas to improve system performance, site efficiency and team effectiveness
We're looking for people with the right attitude, aptitude and ambition.
- An NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in Engineering, Construction, Maintenance or a related technical discipline
- Experience using hand tools and working with mechanical, electrical or technical equipment
- A practical understanding of mechanical, electrical or software-controlled systems
- Good IT skills and confidence using technology
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- A strong commitment to Health & Safety
- The physical capability to work within a large, active operational environment.
- Has a genuine interest in engineering and automation
- Is eager to learn and develop new technical skills
- Wants to progress and build a long-term engineering career

This role operates within a 24/7 engineering operation and follows a rotating shift pattern covering days, nights and weekends.
