Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Payments – Ledger Solution Architect to lead the architecture and design of large-scale payment and ledger platforms within the UK financial services domain. This role requires strong advocacy across modern streaming data technologies and excellent senior stakeholder management skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as Solution Architect for Payments and Ledger platforms.
• Design and advocate event-driven and streaming architectures.
• Lead solution design for real-time payment processing and ledger systems.
• Provide architectural governance and technical leadership.
• Collaborate with senior business and technology stakeholders.
• Ensure solutions meet UK financial services regulatory and performance standards.
• Support architecture reviews and solution assurance.

Mandatory Skills & Experience

• 10–15 years of experience in IT / financial services.
• Strong Payments and Ledger domain experience within UK Finance.
• Deep expertise in Streaming Data Technologies, including:
• Confluent Kafka
• Apache Flink
• Java
• ODS / MongoDB
• Proven experience with high-volume, low-latency payment systems.
• Excellent senior stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Experience working in a contractor / consulting environment.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Inside IR35 engagements.
• Exposure to Tier-1 UK banks or large financial institutions.
• Knowledge of UK payments regulatory frameworks.
