About the role:

The principal responsibility of the Geospatial Officer is to support the Alliance Geospatial manager in delivering geospatial intelligence across the organisations.

Providing a comprehensive service to source, process and disseminate GIS data essential for the ongoing delivery of services across the Forces (primary customers control room, intel, Ops). Responsible for the maintenance of GIS systems and datasets, managing relationships with partners and sharing data with stakeholders.

Support the geospatial manager in driving forward the use of 3D geospatial intelligence ensuring effective data protection compliance for the storage of Official Sensitive data.

Analyse GIS data to highlight risk, vulnerabilities and efficiency gains.

In particular to:

  • Attend key operational locations (locally, regionally, and nationally) with lidar equipment to scan, process and present 3D captured data.
  • Be responsible for ensuring data is captured in accordance with the forces health and safety, policies, and operational procedures whilst on location and during processing of captured data.
  • Understand and work to ISO standards with regards to the retention of data.
  • Use photogrammetry software to create georeferenced 3D models for work on National Counter Terrorism Policing systems analysing Operational environments.
  • Perform the role of liaison for Ordnance Survey and the national APGB geospatial contract while the unit manager is unavailable.
