Desktop Support Engineer
If you are an experienced Desktop Support Engineer with excellent communication skills and a proven track record of providing 1st class customer service, we have a new contract we would like to discuss with you.
Please note this role requires onsite attendance 4-5 days per week and has been deemed inside IR35.
We’re looking for a Desktop Engineer to provide hands-on 1st and 2nd line support across a mixed Windows and macOS environment. You’ll resolve user issues, manage service desk tickets and complete daily checks to help keep systems running smoothly.
What you’ll do
- Support users with laptops, software, Microsoft 365, connectivity and meeting room technology.
- Set up equipment and accounts for new starters, manage access requests and maintain IT asset records.
- Monitor backups, Microsoft 365 services, servers and network alerts, investigating or escalating issues as needed.
- Troubleshoot Active Directory and Entra ID, Windows Server, virtualisation and basic network issues.
- Keep tickets and support documentation clear and up to date.
What you’ll bring
- Experience in a 1st or 2nd line IT support role, with strong Windows 11 and macOS troubleshooting skills.
- Practical knowledge of Microsoft 365, Active Directory or Entra ID, and core networking such as DNS, DHCP and VPNs.
- Experience using a ticketing system and working to service targets.
- A helpful, organised approach and the ability to take ownership of issues through to resolution.
Experience with Intune, VMware or Hyper-V, Veeam or PowerShell would be useful.
