PMO Analyst
If you are an experienced PMO Analyst with excellent communication skills and a proven track record of supporting complex programmes, we have a new contract role we would like to discuss with you.
Please note this role will require onsite attendance 2-3 days per week in London and has been deemed outside IR35.
Any previous experience working within public sector/central government would be advantageous.
Overview
A central government body require a PMO Analyst to support the delivery of complex programmes and wider portfolio activity.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce & maintain project schedules and process improvement
- Tracking benefits & supporting communications
- Risk, Issue and Change Management
- Prepare governance materials including Programme Board packs
- Collaborate closely with Programme Leads and senior stakeholders
- Track and manage decisions, actions, risks, and issues across programmes
- Support quality assurance on project artefacts and governance documentation
- Provide oversight and support for health checks and risk management
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of PMO standards and processes
- Ensure compliance with internal governance frameworks and methodologies
- Support financial processes (e.g. POs, invoice tracking)
- Produce high-quality reporting using data from various tools and platforms
- Facilitate and document programme meetings, escalating risks as required
Experience and Skills Required
- Extensive experience in PMO roles across large, multi-stream environments
- Able to write or contribute to governance documents and programme papers
- Familiar with both Agile and Waterfall delivery methodologies
- Strong working knowledge of project tools such as JIRA, ServiceNow (ideal), and MS Project
- Comfortable with data handling and reporting (Power BI experience beneficial)
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, able to build trusted relationships across teams
- Proven experience conducting QA and assurance across multiple projects and platforms
- Financially literate, ideally with experience managing or supporting programme budgets
