The Business

Digitech are exclusively partnered with a high-growth AI SaaS start-up operating on a global scale. The company has recently launched a state-of-the-art AI-driven platform and is entering an exciting expansion phase, growing steadily over the past 18 months across engineering, sales, and customer success. Headquartered in London, they operate on a hybrid basis (3 days per week in the office).

The Role

They are seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to play a key role in architecting and building scalable backend systems using Python (FastAPI, Flask, Node.js). You will also contribute to scaling the system in production so they are keen on someone with a strong devops or platform background.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable, high-performance backend services in Python (fast api, flask, node.js)
• Design, build, and maintain the core AWS-based platform that supports our data and web products
• Manage our Kubernetes clusters, ensuring high availability and optimal performance
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions for automated testing and deployment
• Optimise systems for performance, reliability, and scalability.

Requirements

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• 5+ years of backend development experience.
• Experience in a start-up or growing company is a must, ideally with a SaaS business with multiple users.
• Familiarity with data pipelines, vector databases, and prompt engineering.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced, high-performing environment.
