Application Scientist

Junior Application Scientist | Hybrid (2–3 days onsite) | Cheshire / Manchester

We’re working with a growing SaaS business that builds workflow platforms used by highly regulated, science-led industries to manage complex data, processes, and collaboration.

They’re now looking for a Junior Application Scientist to join their customer delivery team — a fantastic opportunity for someone early in their career to develop at the intersection of science, technology, and client delivery.

💡 The Opportunity

This is a brilliant role for someone with a scientific background who wants to move beyond the lab and into a more client-facing, technology-driven position.

We are expecting some commercial experience - this could be a year in industry, a graduate job or even a summer internship.

You’ll be supported by experienced Application Scientists and work closely with customers, gradually building your ability to translate scientific requirements into real-world software solutions.

There’s a clear development path into a fully-fledged Application Scientist role, with increasing responsibility across delivery, client interaction, and project ownership.

🧩 What You’ll Be Doing

  • Supporting client conversations to understand scientific workflows and requirements
  • Helping translate customer needs into configurable software solutions
  • Assisting in delivering product demonstrations to prospective clients
  • Setting up and maintaining demo environments
  • Configuring customer requirements within the platform
  • Writing development tickets for custom requests
  • Supporting the Customer Support team with client queries
  • Working with Account Managers to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Contributing to project delivery, with increasing ownership over time

👀 What They’re Looking For

  • A scientific degree (2:1 or above desired)
  • Strong interest in technology, software, and problem-solving
  • Good organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Clear and confident communication skills
  • A proactive, can-do attitude and willingness to learn
  • Basic business analysis or requirements gathering exposure (academic or commercial)
  • Comfortable using software tools and systems
  • Exposure to pharmaceutical, biotech, or regulated environments
  • Customer-facing or support experience

📈 What’s in It for You

  • Structured development into an Application Scientist role
  • Hands-on experience with a specialist SaaS platform
  • Exposure to global clients in pharma, biotech, and scientific sectors
  • A collaborative, supportive team environment
  • Real career progression as the company continues to grow
  • Flexible working with a strong work-life balance focus
