DevOps Engineer - AWS

Clearance Required - SC Cleared / NPPV3

Birmingham - 3 days/week

We’re looking for an experienced DevOps Engineer to join a large-scale public sector digital transformation program. You’ll be part of a high-performing team, helping to drive automation, improve cloud infrastructure, and enable continuous delivery across development and operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain AWS-based cloud infrastructure
• Build and manage CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins (Groovy scripting)
• Automate system configuration with tools like Terraform, Vagrant, and scripting (Shell, Python, PowerShell)
• Deploy and manage containerised services using Docker
• Implement system monitoring with Prometheus, Grafana, and AlertManager
• Configure and support infrastructure tools like Nginx, Squid Proxy (with mTLS), LDAP, SMTP/IMAP servers
• Collaborate with stakeholders and lead technical workshops
• Drive best practices in DevOps, security, and agile delivery

Core Tech Stack - You do not need to have experience in all of the below skills, but must be willing to learn and upskill

• AWS (EC2, ECS, RDS, S3, IAM, CloudWatch, VPC, etc.)
• Terraform, Vagrant for infrastructure provisioning
• Jenkins, Git, Jira, Confluence, ServiceNow
• Linux (Amazon Linux 2023), Docker
• Monitoring: Prometheus, Grafana
• Mail: Postfix, Dovecot, Thunderbird, Outlook
• Security: Nessus, ClamAV, MS Defender
• Web: Nginx, Squid Proxy
