DevOps Engineer AWS

Location: South Manchester, UK

I'm seeking a DevOps Engineer to maintain a reliable cloud infrastructure on behalf of my client, who is in the software development space. You'll be helping to drive automation, observability, and incident response. You'll work hands-on across AWS, Terraform, Linux, and monitoring tools while mentoring junior members of the team.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the uptime, performance, and security of production systems
• Manage AWS infrastructure with Terraform & Ansible
• Troubleshoot system issues and support deployment processes
• Mentor junior members of the team and collaborate with the engineering function
• Drive automation, documentation, and process improvements

Skills & Experience

• Strong AWS, Terraform & Ansible skills
• Linux administration & scripting
• Monitoring, debugging & incident management
• Git and containerisation experience

Nice to Have

• Kubernetes
• CI/CD tooling exposure (TeamCity, CodePipeline, ArgoCD)
• Experience with scientific or data-heavy systems
