Job summary

As an apprentice, you will embark on a meticulously crafted development plan aimed at unlocking your full potential and transforming you into a confident and proficient engineer. Alongside this practical experience, you will pursue a BSc in Computing (Software Engineering) at the University of Wales Trinity St David's, Swansea campus through the Apprenticeship programme, ensuring a robust academic foundation to complement your on-the-job training.The fully funded degree course is taught on a day release on Mondays during Term time.

Main duties of the job

Act as the primary point of contact for service users, providing efficient and high-quality administrative support to the Core Services teams within the Cloud and Infrastructure department.

Assist the operational teams by delivering comprehensive operational infrastructure services, monitoring, and maintaining infrastructure systems as required.

Adopt a proactive approach to effectively support the infrastructure teams.

This position is fixed-term for 48 months.

Person Specification

Qualifications and Knowledge

Essential
  • Educated to Level 3 (e.g. A Level standard, National diploma or higher) or possess the equivalent level of experience.
Desirable
  • Knowledge of Cloud and Infrastructure systems and procedures.

Experience

Essential
  • Experience of Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams and a good knowledge of information systems (including databases).

Skills and Attributes

Essential
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Ability to prioritise and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work as part of a team
Desirable
  • Welsh language skills are desirable, levels 1 or above in understanding, speaking, reading and writing in Welsh.
