Job summary
We have an excitingopportunity to join the Clinical Directorate's Information Governance Team as an Information Governance Officer, supporting our established Data Protection Officer Service.
The successful candidate will have a sound understanding of Information Governance, Data Protection and Confidentiality, enabling them to provide professional advice and guidance to our subscribedPrimary care contractorsacross Wales.
You will ideally hold a recognised qualification in Information Governance or have relevant experience in the field. However, applicants with a broad understanding of Information Governance and a commitment to developing their knowledge will also be considered. Support will be provided toattaina professionally recognised qualification as part of your ongoing learning and development.
Working as part of a dynamic,supportiveand friendly team, you will playan important rolein promoting good data protection and information governance practices, supportingcontractorsthroughout Wales to meet their statutory and regulatory obligations.
The role will be based at either our Cardiff or Mold office, with flexible working arrangements available. We welcome applications from candidatesseekingpart-time, job-share and/or flexible working options.

Main duties of the job
As the first point of contact for service enquiries, you will be a dynamic and adaptable individual with excellent communication and organisational skills, committed to delivering a high-quality customer experience.
In this role, you will support our wide range of subscribers by responding to general enquiries, delivering training, undertaking audits, and developing guidance and support materials.
Experience of NHS Information Governance and/or working within a Primary Care setting would beadvantageous; however, this is not essential, as full training and support will be provided to the successful candidate.
Due to the geographical spread of the service across Wales, a flexible approach to working isrequired. The role will involve occasional travel to various sites throughout Wales and may, on occasion, require overnight stays.

Qualifications
- Relevant degree or equivalent experience.
- BCS Certificate in Data Protection or equivalent qualification.
- BCS Certificate in Data Protection or equivalent qualification.
- Registered with a relevant informatics professional body
Experience
- Experience of producing high quality information for an internal and external audience.
- Experience of working on projects that support better IG practice and highlight successes.
- Experience of working across organisational and professional boundaries in a complex organisation Experience of developing and updating information resources.
- Knowledge and experience of using language and terminology.
Skills and Attributes
