BIM Manager

About The Role

The UK BIM Manager will have full ownership and accountability for the BIM function, its delivery, processes, capability and external delivery partners. This is a senior operational leadership role responsible for ensuring that the BIM service is delivered consistently, efficiently and to the required technical and quality standards.

The role will be responsible for establishing and managing a scalable BIM delivery model, including the effective use of outsourced and external partners. The BIM Manager will own the relationship, expectations, standards and deliverables of these partners, ensuring that external delivery is fully integrated with the wider Operations function and meets business and client requirements.

The BIM Manager will have ownership of the end-to-end BIM delivery process, from establishing requirements and standards through to production, quality assurance and final delivery. They will be accountable for identifying and resolving operational and technical issues, developing robust processes and building the internal capability required to support increasingly complex and large-scale projects.

A key responsibility will be developing the BIM function to support Government contracts and future business growth, ensuring the appropriate processes, standards, resources and capability are in place to scale effectively. The role will also work closely with Operations, Technology, Digital Surveying and Stak Verified to ensure BIM is delivered as a seamless and scalable service alongside the wider product offering.

The UK BIM Manager will ultimately be accountable for ensuring the BIM function is efficient, commercially sustainable, technically robust and capable of scaling in line with the planned growth of the business.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement BIM standards, protocols, and procedures.
  • Lead Project BIM Coordinators and manage Revit Technician workloads.
  • Develop BIM Execution Plans, project standards and digital workflows to support consistent project delivery
  • Provide technical leadership, mentoring and project support to architectural and interior design teams
  • Lead and manage the BIM process for various projects, ensuring compliance with company standards and industry best practices.
  • Collaborate with project teams, including architects, engineers, and contractors, to ensure the effective integration of BIM models.
  • Conduct regular BIM coordination meetings and provide support to project teams.
  • Oversee the development and maintenance of BIM models, ensuring data accuracy and consistency.
  • Provide training and support to staff on BIM software and processes.
  • Manage and resolve BIM-related issues and conflicts.
  • Stay updated with the latest BIM technologies and industry trends, and recommend improvements and innovations.
  • Coordinate with IT departments to ensure the proper functioning and updating of BIM software and hardware.
  • Develop and implement quality control procedures for BIM models and data
  • Stay informed on advancements in building technology.

Knowledge, Skills & Training

  • Experience 5 + years of experience with point cloud data
  • Understanding of IPMS 1 & 2.
  • Strong understanding of BIM Execution Plans, project standards and digital delivery processes
  • Experience working within ISO 19650 and Common Data Environment workflows
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Driving the production and delivery of high-quality 3D models and 2D drawings in accordance with DRC’s standards and any project-specific standards agreed with our clients.
  • Drive modelling standards across third party production teams (India, Vietnam)
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, with a strong background in BIM management.
  • Proficiency in BIM software such as ACC, Revit, Navisworks, BIM360 and AutoCAD.
  • Strong understanding of BIM standards, protocols, and best practices.
  • Ability to lead and motivate teams, with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Problem-solving mindset and ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
  • Certification in BIM or related fields is advantageous.
