Digital Skills are looking for an experienced AWS Architect to support a client with the development and security of a large-scale cloud hosting platform.

The role will focus on integrating Microsoft Entra ID with an established AWS environment, strengthening privileged access controls, improving identity resilience and embedding automated security controls across the platform.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement Microsoft Entra ID integration within an AWS environment.
• Develop conditional access and identity security policies.
• Design logging and monitoring across Entra ID, Microsoft Defender for Cloud and AWS CloudWatch.
• Implement Entra ID Protected Actions and privileged identity management controls.
• Design PIM approval workflows and supporting security policies.
• Improve the resilience and availability of OTP and Keycloak-based identity services.
• Support containerised, highly available deployments using Amazon EKS.
• Automate identity security controls using Terraform, AWS Lambda and Step Functions.
• Integrate automated security checks into CI/CD pipelines.
• Produce architecture designs, technical documentation and architectural decisions.
• Provide technical assurance, resolve complex integration issues and identify security risks.
• Collaborate with engineering, DevOps, infrastructure and security teams.

Essential experience

• Strong AWS architecture and security experience.
• In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Entra ID.
• Experience designing conditional access, PIM and privileged access controls.
• Identity federation and access management experience.
• Infrastructure as Code, ideally Terraform.
• Keycloak, OTP or multi-factor authentication architecture.
• AWS monitoring and security services, including CloudWatch.
• CI/CD and DevSecOps environments.
• Strong technical architecture and stakeholder communication skills.
