Data Governance Manager/Data Quality Manager

Digital Skills are partnering with a large Software and travel business to identify a Data Governance professional to join their team supporting continued growth.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work for one of the world's leading travel technology organisations, helping to shape the quality, governance and trustworthiness of data that drives customer experience and business performance.

You'll sit at the intersection of data, technology and business, working closely with Product Managers, Data Engineers, Data Scientists and Analytics teams to ensure high-quality, well-governed data across a rapidly growing domain.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement and automate Data Quality monitoring and controls
• Analyse data issues, identify root causes and quantify business impact
• Drive end-to-end data quality improvements across systems and processes
• Develop and maintain data lineage, business glossaries and data dictionaries
• Support metadata management and governance initiatives
• Work with engineering teams to improve data models and reduce points of failure
• Ensure regulatory, audit and policy requirements are met
• Champion data literacy and governance best practices across the organisation
• Support stakeholders in understanding and trusting their data

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong SQL skills with the ability to perform detailed data analysis
• Experience within Data Governance, Data Quality or Data Stewardship
• Experience performing data profiling and root-cause analysis
• Knowledge of Data Warehouses, Data Lakes and modern data ecosystems
• Experience working with data models, ETL processes and data pipelines
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
• Experience with Tableau, Power BI or similar visualisation platforms

Desirable Experience

• Collibra or similar Data Governance tooling
• Master Data Management (MDM)
• Data Lineage and Metadata Management
• Python for data analysis
• DAMA-DMBOK frameworks
• AI or automation tools within governance processes

Ideal Backgrounds

This role is suitable for an experienced Data Quality expert with experience in large data sets and commercial businesses. You will be experienced in helping identify the correct data in order to help make commercial decisions and working with Engineers in order to help improve data models.

Rate: £55 per hour
Contract: Initial 6 months
Location: Manchester Hybrid
