Contract: 9 months
Rate: Up to £76 per hour Inside IR35 (37.5 hrs/week)
Location: Hybrid - 1 day per week onsite in Manchester
We are working with a global travel company that is looking for an experienced Full Stack Engineer to support the evolution of a large-scale, customer-facing search and discovery platform.
This role sits at the heart of a critical search journey, focused on helping customers efficiently discover and select relevant travel products. The team is currently modernising its platform, enhancing core user flows, and introducing new services to support richer, more scalable search experiences across multiple suppliers.
You'll be working end-to-end across Back End services and Front End features, contributing to systems that are high-traffic, data-driven, and central to the company's commercial performance.
What You'll Do
- Build and enhance customer-facing and Back End services
- Deliver end-to-end features across Node.js and React
- Improve system performance, scalability, and reliability
- Work in an agile, collaborative, data-led engineering team
Required Skills & Experience
- Minimum 3+ years of professional software development experience
- Strong commercial experience with Node.js and TypeScript on the Back End
- Solid Front End experience using modern frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue.js
- Proven experience building and operating microservices in production
- Experience with unit, integration, and end-to-end testing
- Understanding of system reliability, monitoring, and performance metrics (SLOs/KPIs)
- Experience participating in architecture or design reviews
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Nice to have
- Hands-on experience with AWS native services (EventBridge, SQS, Lambda)
- Background in search, discovery, ranking, marketplace, or E-commerce platforms
- Experience working on products with a large, high-traffic user base
