Digital Skills are working with a Global Technology Business that is undertaking a range of operational improvement initiatives within its insurance operations function. The organisation is investing in automation, AI-driven workflows, and data transformation projects to improve efficiency, scalability, and service delivery across key processes.

About the Role
This is an excellent opportunity for a technically minded contractor who enjoys solving operational problems through automation and intelligent process design. You will work closely with operational and engineering stakeholders to transform manual, spreadsheet-driven processes into scalable, maintainable solutions using modern automation tools, AI technologies, and Scripting languages.

Responsibilities

  • Automate bordereau and operational reporting workflows from data ingestion through to final output preparation
  • Develop and maintain data validation and reconciliation processes
  • Build checks for duplicate records, missing data, format inconsistencies, and financial mismatches
  • Enhance an AI-powered complaints email workflow including classification, extraction, routing, and human review controls
  • Create automations for recurring reporting, management information preparation, and data transformation activities
  • Convert manual spreadsheet processes into scalable solutions using Python, JavaScript, Google Apps Script, and AI tooling
  • Query and manipulate data held within cloud-based data platforms
  • Collaborate with operational and engineering teams to deliver practical automation solutions

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Strong Excel and Google Sheets expertise including complex formulas, pivots, and multi-workbook processes
  • Practical programming experience with Python or JavaScript
  • Experience developing spreadsheet automations using Google Apps Script
  • Strong SQL skills with experience querying large datasets
  • Experience working with cloud-based data warehouses such as Snowflake
  • Familiarity with Git or GitLab for version control and collaborative development
  • Experience using AI-assisted development tools to build, test, and document automation solutions
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on data quality, reconciliation, and operational accuracy
  • Experience designing automation solutions for business operations
  • Financial services or Insurance sector experience would be advantageous

Summary of the Best Candidate

The ideal candidate will have at least three years of experience delivering automation and data-focused solutions within operational environments. You will possess strong spreadsheet, SQL, and Scripting capabilities and be comfortable working independently with stakeholders to identify manual processes and transform them into scalable automated workflows.
