Up to £70 per hour (Inside IR35) based on a 37.5-hour week

Digital Skills are working with a global technology business that is continuing to invest in the development and optimisation of its digital products and customer experiences. The organisation operates at scale and is seeking an experienced Product Designer to support product teams in creating intuitive, accessible and user-centred solutions.

About the Role

This is an excellent opportunity for a Product Designer to work at the intersection of user needs, business objectives and technology. You will collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, researchers and content specialists to shape digital experiences that are useful, usable and desirable, while helping to drive product outcomes through design excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Create innovative, detailed design solutions that align with user needs, business goals and technical requirements.
  • Conduct and utilise research, user insights and data to inform design decisions and validate hypotheses.
  • Produce high-quality design assets that improve the overall user experience, usability and accessibility of products.
  • Collaborate with product managers, engineers, researchers and content teams to deliver cohesive user experiences.
  • Advocate for user needs and perspectives throughout the product development life cycle.
  • Develop prototypes and communicate design concepts effectively through documentation and stakeholder engagement.
  • Work closely with engineering teams to ensure designs are accurately implemented.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • 3 to 5+ years of relevant design experience within product-led digital environments.
  • Strong understanding of user-centred design principles and methodologies.
  • Experience conducting or interpreting user research and usability testing.
  • Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
  • A strong eye for design detail and a systems-thinking approach.
  • Experience using prototyping tools and design systems.
  • Basic understanding of HTML and CSS.
  • Experience with design research, testing methodologies and AI-powered design tools would be advantageous.

Summary of the Best Candidate

The ideal candidate will have a background in product, UX or digital design, with around 5 to 10 years of experience delivering customer-focused digital experiences within complex organisations. They will be a strong collaborator, an effective communicator and a passionate advocate for user needs. Experience working within product teams, applying design systems, conducting user research and creating accessible digital experiences will be highly valued. Candidates who can combine creativity with analytical thinking and comfortably work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders will be particularly well suited to this opportunity.
