Overview
An opportunity has arisen for an aspiring Technical Architect to join a growing technology team. The position is ideal for someone with a foundation in AWS cloud technologies and solution architecture who is keen to broaden their experience while contributing to the design and delivery of scalable, modern systems.
The successful candidate will work closely with senior architects and engineering teams to translate business requirements into effective technical solutions. This role offers exposure to architectural best practice, cloud-native design and enterprise integration.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the design and documentation of solution architectures across applications, data and infrastructure.
- Work with senior architects to evaluate technical requirements and recommend appropriate AWS services and cloud-native patterns.
- Produce technical diagrams, architecture decision records and design documentation.
- Contribute to proof-of-concepts, pilots and technical evaluations of new technologies and tools.
- Ensure solutions comply with architectural standards, security policies and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with engineers, developers and stakeholders to ensure solutions are implemented as designed.
- Keep up to date with AWS developments and emerging architecture practices.
Skills and Experience
Essential
- Hands-on experience with AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, VPC and IAM.
- Exposure to solution architecture, including the design of systems, integrations or cloud-based applications.
- Understanding of the software development life cycle (SDLC) and agile delivery methods.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to communicate complex technical ideas clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Desirable
- AWS certification, for example AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate or higher.
- Knowledge of containerisation technologies such as Docker, ECS or Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Awareness of security and compliance considerations in cloud environments.
