Business Development Manager

We're looking for someone to take full ownership of the new business engine.

Digital Waffle is a specialist recruitment business covering tech, digital, data and IT. We work mostly with SMEs, scale-ups and founders across the UK, helping them hire the people who actually move the business forward. We're growing quickly, the brand is strong, and now we need someone to lead the charge on new client acquisition.

This isn't a role for someone who wants to manage a process from a spreadsheet. We need a proper hunter. Someone who lives on the phone, opens doors, and gets us in front of the right people.

You'll identify companies hiring for tech, digital, data or IT roles, get through to the decision-makers, and turn cold conversations into long-term clients. Over time you'll shape how we approach BD as a whole, but the focus from day one is activity, pipeline and revenue.

Role: Head of New Business (Sales)

Salary: £50,000 + uncapped commission

Location: Hybrid in Birmingham

What we're looking for

Someone who's done real outbound sales, ideally in recruitment, SaaS or another high-velocity environment. You don't need to come from recruitment, but you do need to have made serious volumes of cold calls and know what works.

You'll bring:

  • A strong track record of generating new business from a standing start
  • Total comfort on the phone and no fear of cold outreach
  • The discipline to hit consistent activity without being chased
  • Sharp commercial instincts and the ability to qualify fast
  • Confidence dealing directly with founders and senior buyers
