Data Analyst

A leading global lifestyle brand's EMEA operation is hiring a Data Analyst on a 6-month contract to support the Brand and Sales teams with reporting, analysis and Power BI development.

You'll sit close to the commercial side of the business, keeping key Power BI reports current, running market and consumer analysis, and turning external and internal data into something the Brand and Sales teams can actually use day to day. It's a hands-on, embedded role rather than a remote dashboard build, so you'll be part of the team, not just a producer of files.

Role: Data Analyst (6-month contract)

Salary: Competitive

Location: St Ives, Cambridgeshire, hybrid (typically 3 days in office, 2 at home)

What you'll be doing:

  • Collect, process and analyse external data including market data, sell-through, surveys and rounds of play
  • Maintain and update key Power BI reports for the Brand and Sales teams, keeping data valid and error-free
  • Download and transform market and sell-through data from various portals and emails on a weekly basis
  • Design, code, process and report on consumer surveys
  • Collect and process quarterly rounds of play data from a range of sources
  • Support the Brand and Sales teams with ad-hoc analysis requests, from bespoke Power BI reports to Excel-based tools that support daily operations
  • Support the wider BI team with preparation for an upcoming SAP implementation, including mapping AS400 data and designing data tables in Fabric
  • Improve the existing customer segmentation model using internal and external data
  • Share knowledge on data analysis and visualisation so wider colleagues get more from their own data

What you'll need:

  • Some experience of survey analysis, market data, sales data or performance metrics inside an insights, business analyst or BI role
  • Proficient in Excel and Power BI (or an equivalent analytics or data visualisation platform)
  • Comfortable working across survey platforms and databases
  • Curious and inquisitive, able to ask the right questions and think independently
  • Process-oriented, with a sense of wider business impact
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills
  • Available at short notice for a 6-month engagement
  • Degree-level qualification or equivalent

Nice to have:

  • Working knowledge of Python, SQL and DAX
  • Exposure to AS400, Fabric or SAP
  • Prior experience inside a fast-moving consumer or retail business
