IT Manager
IT Manager - Hands-On Role £45,000 - £55,000 Remote (Occasional travel to London office & other UK locations) A growing technology organisation is looking for an IT Manager to take full ownership of IT across a portfolio of newly acquired businesses. This is a hands-on, operational role suited to someone who enjoys getting stuck in - auditing environments, migrating systems, and supporting users directly. The position would suit someone with a strong MSP background or an experienced IT generalist who is comfortable managing multiple environments and driving improvements. Each acquisition brings its own technology setup - from legacy email platforms and on-premise servers to ageing CRM systems and fragmented file storage. The successful candidate will take responsibility for assessing, consolidating, and modernising these environments. Key Responsibilities
- Audit the IT environment of newly acquired businesses and document existing systems, infrastructure, and processes
- Lead email migrations from a variety of platforms (Exchange, POP/IMAP and others) into Google Workspace
- Assess on-premise infrastructure and plan the transition to centralised cloud-based environments
- Manage CRM data exports and migrations into group-wide systems
- Provide remote desktop support for employees across multiple businesses using tools such as TeamViewer, AnyDesk, or RMM platforms
- Manage user accounts, onboarding/offboarding, permissions, and 2FA across the group
- Deliver hands-on end-user support, including connectivity issues, hardware troubleshooting, and day-to-day IT issues
What We're Looking For
- Experience working in an MSP environment or as an in-house IT generalist supporting SMEs
- A proactive, hands-on approach to troubleshooting and problem-solving
- Strong experience with email migrations, including knowledge of DNS, MX records, and common migration issues
- Experience with CRM data migrations between platforms
- Solid understanding of on-premise infrastructure and cloud migration projects
- Comfortable acting as the primary IT contact across multiple businesses
- Strong communication skills with the ability to support non-technical users during transitions
Salary & Location
- £50,000 - £55,000
- Remote role
- Occasional travel required to London offices and other UK locations when needed
