The Role

A leading client of ours is currently seeking an experienced Systems Administrator for a fully remote, 6-month fixed-term contract paying up to £65,000 . Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Planning: Identify and anticipate risks in infrastructure and networking; contribute to long-term IT and cloud strategy.
  • Operational Management: Lead the implementation and support of server platforms, virtualization, cloud services, and security technologies.
  • Infrastructure Oversight: Manage enterprise-level network systems, ensure system security, oversee disaster recovery, backups, and patch management.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Professional certifications such as MCSE, CISSP, CCNA, or CCNP are highly desirable.
  • Minimum 4 years in a System Administration role.
  • Deep experience with VMware vSphere/vCenter , Hyper-V , and Microsoft server environments.
  • Strong background in enterprise-level storage (SAN/NAS), cloud platforms, and virtualized infrastructure.
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL and Oracle databases is essential.
  • Proven track record in managing and delivering complex infrastructure projects.
  • VMware Certification. (Preferred)
  • Strong proficiency with Windows operating systems. (Preferred)

  • Flexibility required for participation in an on-call rotation and occasional travel if necessary.
