An immediate hire for an internal sales resource details of the role can be found below for the standard internal sales position. The role is based in Uxbridge and we are paying good basic uncapped commission
This ISR role will be specific for sales, helping directly in growing this into a thriving business within the UK and EMEA. As much as this is an internal position I hope to grow the segment of our business quickly so this will turn into a hybrid internal / external role as soon as we’re able to do so.
The successful candidate must have an understanding of the IT market or similar products / technologies and of course be sales savvy.
Summary of role
Grow sales profitably with existing accounts and actively develop new accounts in line with the location and company strategy and objectives.
Take full accountability for the profitability, product mix, account penetration and growth of your own customer portfolio.
Proactively attain customer and market knowledge to ensure commercial expertise is up to date and utilised consistently and effectively to gain competitive edge. Know your competition
Main responsibilities/Key goals
- Grow and maintain new and existing relationships with customers by consistently providing a proactive added value service – offering solutions / products / service / support as appropriate
- Build effective working relationships and rapport with all key players within the customer organisation – owners, estimators, project managers, sales and other within the customer organisation.
- Maximise profit potential with each customer.
- Maintain healthy profitable margins, cross sell and up sell, increase relevant product mix and minimise profit leaks. Manage project orders effectively avoiding potential inventory profit leaks
- Fill customers with confidence that through your actions their business is in good hands. That you are managing their orders and looking after their business. Develop, implement and achieve growth strategy for your target customers. This includes analysis of existing sales, desired sales, plan and implement action plans, follow up and meet set targets. Work with O/S on accounts as applicable.
Sales Administration and systems –
- Effectively use all computer systems - SAM, Mainframe, IAP, WIRE, Lotus Notes, etc. Good understanding and proficient use of Microsoft Excel. Manage PC filing, other paperwork, processes and engage relevant internal support to provide an efficient and timely sales service to all customers.
Work management –
- Manage and prioritise your time to provide 1st Class Customer Service. Rapid, timely and accurate quotations, quotation follow ups, responses to customer queries and prompt action on new sales leads. Be a “go-getter” ringing customers, not waiting for the phone to ring. Embracing and selling initiatives, Expro, MBDM activity
Collaboration –
- Proactively utilise and negotiate with all available resources. Vendors, colleagues and central services offering relevant solutions to customers to achieve growth targets. Build effective working relationship with key people, outside sales, credit control, purchasing, operations and marketing. Committed to self learning.
Special conditions (e.g. frequent travel, early starts and late finishes)
Basic hours are 35 per week –
- However, this is a sales and customer led position. You need to be flexible and be prepared to work outside your core hours in order to meet customer service level expectations.
- Some customer visits will be required to build solid relationships
Tools and equipment used

- Core
- General P.C. systems – knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel would be beneficial
Qualifications/education required
- Educated to Advanced or College level .
Necessary skills, knowledge and experience
- Customer sales and service orientation
- Successful sales record, understanding of what it is to reach a target
- Solid level of Math’s, understands margins and percentages.
- Results and achievement orientated – quality driven
- Strong communication skills – proven ability to influence effectively
- Effectively uses sales cycle, strong negotiator
- Ability to perform in a sometimes fast paced environment
- Persistent and driven – demonstrates core sales behaviours consistently
- Good attention to detail and able to prioritise effectively
- Knowledge of the I.T. industry would be an advantage
